Chapter 11 – PRECAUTIONS FOR PROLONGED PERIOD OF INACTIVITY

If the machine is to remain unused for a long period of time, the following rules must be observed.

Clean the machine completely and lubricate all greases.

Fully refill the fuel tank to avoid rust formation.

Remove the injectors and introduce a small amount of engine oil into the cylinders through a syringe after each
piston is broucht to the lowest dead spot.

Make a few turns to the engine in order to distribute the veil of oil on the cylinders.

Refit the injectors.

Remove the battery and place it in an environment that can not reach the low temperatures and reload at least
once a month.

Charge the battery with a slow charge. Before connecting the cables, make
sure that the polarities are respected. Do not short circuit the terminals.

Protect the jack stems with grease to prevent accumulation and corrosion.

Place the machine in a sheltered and/or covered area with a waterproof tarpaulin.

If possible, at least once a week, to keep the engine lubricated, let it run for about 20 minutes.
