gently to slide it from the spline of the brake keys, then move the spline by one tooth in the
appropriate directions, then re-assemble it.
An adjustment towards the brake cylinder means an increase in the braking force in the
corresponding head. An opposite adjustment will bring the opposite effect. The lever must
be set in the first third of the operation of the brake cylinder in a non-load condition and
must allow for the free rotation of the brake drum. The braking effect must not be deduced
in the extreme operating position of the brake cylinder.
The clearance between the brake drum and brake lining must not be less than 0.5 mm or
greater than 1.25 mm.
14.7.1.1 Axle operation
After the first 100 km
- Test the axle play of the bearings visually and by moving the wheels from side to side
- Tighten the disc screw nuts
After the first 2500 km
- Tighten the disc screw nuts.
- Tighten the nuts of the screws holding the axle to the chassis
- * Check the axial play of the bearings of the wheel hubs
- * Check the action of the brake levers
- Check the smoothness of operation of the brake keys, including how they return
- Check the grease in the hub bearings (TUK NH2).
- Grease the lubrication points (grease nipples) with lubricant Tuk A00.
- Take care to avoid over-lubrication and displacing the grease onto the brake pads.
After each 7 500 km
- Tighten all screws
After each 15 000 km.
- * Check the axial play in the bearings of the wheel hubs.
- Check the condition of the brake linings. When the lining is worn to a thickness less than 1
mm, replace the lining.
- Check the condition of the lubricant in the bearings of the wheel hubs (TUK AK 2).
- Grease the lubrication points (TUK A00).
After each 60,000 km or once per year.
- Remove the wheel hubs and remove the old grease.
- Check the condition of the bearings in the wheel hubs.
- Lubricate the bearings with new lubricant (TUK NH 2) and fill the bearing space ¾ with
grease.
- * Set the bearing clearance
