9 Preparing for application
- An essential precondition for the proper application of pesticide is functional equipment. Have
the sprayer periodically checked on a test bed and remove all defects immediately.
- Use all available filters. Clean all filters regularly. The sprayer can work without problems
only during perfect filtration of the spray mix. Perfect filtration affects the degree of the
effectiveness of the treatment.
- Observe the permitted combinations of screens and filters (densities). The densities of the
pressure filter meshes must be smaller than the size of the used nozzles.
- Standard size of sieve pressure filters:
- The first pressure filter has an insert with 50 mesh size. It is designed for nozzles from
size 3.
- The second pressure filter has an insert with size 100 mesh. It is designed for nozzles
from size 015.
- Be careful when using the size 80 and 100 mesh to ensure that solids do not get stuck on the
mesh.
- Before changing the preparation, the sprayer should be thoroughly rinsed.
- Flush the distribution system:
- each time you change the nozzles.
- before you insert other nozzles.
- before turning a multi-nozzle holder to another nozzle.
9.1 Filling the main tank
9.1.1 General recommendations
- When filling the spray tank, use extreme caution.
- Fill only as much liquid as is necessary!
- Do not fill above the indicator for maximum nominal size of the tank.
- When filling, note the different specific values of the liquid.

- Fill the tank so that nothing flows out of the tank or splashes back.
- When filling the tank with water from a public water supply, do not immerse the hose in the
tank if it will later be used for other purposes.
- Pumping water from open water sources may be done only with official permission while
preventing the possibility of contaminating the water source. Provincial and municipal
regulations on the protection of water resources must be observed. Use a strainer with a fine
filter.
- Before each filling, make sure the drain valve under the tank and the tank lid are closed to
prevent the accidental discharge of liquid.
- To avoid excessive foaming during filling, add pesticides only when the tank is 75% full.
After adding the pesticides, fill the tank and mix. In case of problems, an anti-foam agent can
be added prior to filling the tank with pesticide.
