Remote Management
This chapter covers remote management (SMT menu 24.11).
28.1 Remote Management Overview
Remote management allows you to determine which services/protocols can access which Prestige
interface (if any) from which computers.
When you configure remote management to allow management from the WAN, you still need to
configure a firewall rule to allow access. See the firewall chapters for details on configuring
firewall rules.
28.2 Remote Management
To disable remote management of a service, select
Disable
in the corresponding Server Access
field.
Enter 11 from menu 24 to display Menu 24.11 — Remote Management Control .
28.2.1 Remote Management Setup
You may manage your Prestige from a remote location via:
the Internet ( WAN only ), the LAN only , All (LAN and WAN) or Disable (neither).
WAN only
(Internet) ALL (LAN and WAN)
LAN only Disable (Neither)
If you enable remote management of a service, but have applied a filter to block the service, then
you will not be able to remotely manage the service.
Enter 11, from menu 24, to display Menu 24.11 — Remote Management Control (shown next).
