4.1 Belts
Diesel Engine

Reinstall crankshaft pulley according aside
drawing (pos.s 3, 11, 16, 21 & 22).
CAUTION
!
Internal spacer number at Tab.
5.1.1

Completely screw screws (pos.16) until their
heads touch pulley.
CAUTION
!
Tightening torque: 9Nm (80lb
− in)

Turn pulley helping belt reach- ing its
working position.

Check Alternator belt tension according Table 5.1.1.
•
In case of loose belt, repeat operation from point "k"
moving out one spacer.
•
In case of overtighten belt, repeat operation from
point "k" moving one spacer internally.
•
With proper belt tighten proceed to next point.

Final checks
CAUTION
!
Check that threads of all pulleys tightening screws (pos. 16) are completely screwed-in.
CAUTION
!
Check and adjust belts tightening: in case of loose belt, move out an inner spacer from the tightening
pulley; in case of overtightened belt, move spacers internally.
CAUTION
!
Pulley rubber ring it is not necessary for extra-long belts, while it helps during installation of shorter ones.
CAUTION
!
After 2-5 minutes running engine, check pulleys screws (pos. 16) tightening torque 9Nm. After 3O’
running engine check belts tightening.
