Null Feature (Null Settings)
You can use the null feature to subtract the DC offset while a measurement cable or external sensor is
connected.
Items to Configure Null Settings for (Target Element)
All (All)
Each time you tap Null or press NULL, you can enable or disable the null feature for all the following input
signals.
• U and I signals of each element
• Speed, Torque, and Aux signals (on models with the motor evaluation option)
Independent Selection (Select)
Tap Null or press NULL to select the input signals that you want to enable, hold, or disable the null feature for.
Voltage (U)
• All (All): You can enable or disable the null feature for the voltage signals of all elements at the same time.
• U1 to 7: You can enable or disable the null feature for the voltage signals of each element separately.
Current (I)
• All (All): You can enable or disable the null feature for the current signals of all elements at the same time.
• I1 to 7: You can enable or disable the null feature for the current signals of each element separately.
Motor/Aux (Options)
• All (All): You can enable or disable the null feature for the Speed, Torque, and Aux signals at the same time.
• Speed1 to 4, Torque1 to 4, Aux1 to 8: You can enable or disable the null feature for the Speed, Torque, and
Aux signals separately.
Null Status (Status)
Enable or disable the null feature for each input signal.
• ON: When you tap Null or press NULL, this Instrument sets or updates the null value. Afterwards, the null
value is used to correct the measurement function values.
• Hold (Hold): The function of this key varies depending on whether the null value has yet to be set or has
already been set.
• When the null value has yet to be set
When you enable the null feature, this Instrument sets the null value. Afterwards, the null value is used
to correct the measurement function values. Even if you disable the null feature in this condition, the null
value is stored in the instrument.
• When the null value has already been set
Even if you enable the null feature, the null value is not updated. The saved null value discussed above is
used to correct the measurement function values.
For example, if you turn on the power and then immediately enable the null feature, the null value has not yet
been set, so the value measured then is used as the null value. If you disable the null feature in this condition,
the specified null value is stored in the instrument. If you enable the null feature again, the null value is not
updated. The saved null value discussed above is used to correct the measurement function values.
• OFF: Even if you tap Null or press NULL, the null feature is not enabled. Measurement function values are
produced with no null correction.
