THROTTLE BODY
1. Remove:
• Throttle body
CAUTION:
Do not remove the throttle body sensor as-
sembly “1”, from the throttle body.
1. Check:
• Fuel injector
Damage
→
Replace.
1. Check:
• Throttle body
Cracks/damage
→
Replace the throttle body.
2. Check:
• Fuel passages
Obstructions
→
Clean.
a. Wash the throttle body in a petroleum- based
solvent.
Do not use any caustic carburetor cleaning
solution.
b. Blow out all of the passages with compressed
air.
1. Check:
• Fuel pressure
a. Remove the seat.
Refer to “GENERAL CHASSIS” on page 4-1.
b. Lift the front of the fuel tank.
c. Disconnect the fuel hose “1” from the fuel
pump “2”.
WARNING
Cover fuel hose connections with a cloth
when disconnecting them. Residual pres-
sure in the fuel lines could cause fuel to
spurt out when removing the hoses.
d. Connect the fuel pressure adapter “3” be-
tween the fuel hose “1” and fuel pump “2”.
e. Connect the pressure gauge “4” to fuel pres-
sure adapter “3”.
f. Start the engine.
g. Measure the fuel pressure.

Replace the fuel pump.
INSTALLING THE THROTTLE BODY
1. Install:
• Throttle body joint clamps
Align the projections “a” on the throttle body joint
with the slot “b” in each throttle body joint clamp.
