CLCU SELF-DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION
The CLCU (cornering light control unit) is equipped with a self-diagnostic function in order to ensure
that the cornering light system is operating normally. If this function detects a malfunction in the corner-
ing light system, the fault code number for the malfunction is stored in the memory of the CLCU.

CHECKING THE CORNERING LIGHT SYSTEM
Check whether the cornering lights come on when the main switch is turned to “ON”.
If the following malfunctions occur when checking the cornering light system, perform troubleshooting
using the Yamaha diagnostic tool.
Refer to “YAMAHA DIAGNOSTIC TOOL” on page 8-62.
Refer to “TROUBLESHOOTING DETAILS (CLCU)” on page 8-31.
• None of the cornering lights come on.
• The lighting sequence for the cornering lights is not completed correctly during the initial display
mode.
• Some of the cornering lights (LED) do not come on.
Lighting sequence for the cornering lights when the main switch is turned to “ON”
Immediately after turning the main switch to “ON”, check that the cornering lights come on and go off
in the following sequence.

TROUBLESHOOTING DETAILS (CLCU)
This section describes the measures per fault code number displayed on the Yamaha diagnostic tool.
Check and service the items or components that are the probable cause of the malfunction following
the order given.
After the check and service of the malfunctioning part have been completed, delete the fault codes dis-
played on the Yamaha diagnostic tool according to the reinstatement method.

work normally.
Diagnostic code No.:
Diagnostic code number to be used when the diagnostic mode is operated. Refer to “SELF-DIAGNOS-
