What is in this guide
This user guide gives you step-by-step instructions on how to install, configure and connect an RS-1600-
FC-SBD or RS-1602-FC-SBD storage subsystem to your host computer system, and how to use and
maintain the system.
Who should use this guide
This user guide assumes that you have a working knowledge of the Fibre Channel Arbitrated Loop (FC-
AL) environment into which you are installing your RS-1600-FC-SBD or RS-1602-FC-SBD subsystem
and are familiar with switched connectivity technology . If you do not have these skills, or are not confident
with the instructions in this guide, do not proceed with the installation.

This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a class A digital device, pursuant
to Part 15 of the FCC rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful
