Bit Error Ratio Test (BERT) on the ADSL line is usually used to make the evaluation on the
transmission quality of ADSL signals. In Fig 4, press

The test time of

test has the range with minimum 20 seconds
and maximum 3 hours in limitation.

”

PING is a utility to determine whether a specific IP address is accessible. It works by
sending a packet to the specified address and waiting for a reply. PING is used primarily to
troubleshoot Internet connections or LAN connections.
In main

Settings

menu, Press

to enter into Page 1 of

PING
”
settings menu, as shown in Fig 8. Press

Cursor Moveable Right and Down
”
key to
move the cursor to the positions of parameters, select

LAN PING
”
or

WAN PING
”
.
And then you can use

to choose the parameters.
Caution:
Firewalls are always used by some firms and organizations to protect their
LAN against attacking. So the firewalls maybe refuse the PING packets. If the
destination IP address is protected by the firewall, the PING testing will not
work normally.
When no reply is received from the destination IP, there are two possibilities
existing. One is that the website under ping testing is protected by a firewall.
And the other is that the website under ping testing is unreachable.
You can press
“
Start/Stop
”
key to control the test duration of PING testing.
