ADSL2+ Tester 5 Performing Measurements
72-0046-03A 63
TRACE will be more detailed than from PING. The results information contains all the
IP address in the route and the time taken in the transmission. TRACE testing is
more possible in connectivity analysis in the big networks.

5.3.2
LAN PING
PING testing in LAN is usually used in checking the existence of designated IP and
calculating the time replied by the host.
Connect the LAN interface of tester with the HUB, as shown in Fig 36.

5.3.3
ADSL BER testing
When making the ADSL line BER testing, the connection is shown as Fig 35. After the tester
connects DSLAM successfully, set the test time and start the test. Line BER testing is
usually used to evaluate the quality of transmitting signal on the line.
5.3.4
MODEM Simulator
Simulate ADSL CPE MODEM completely, replacing MODEM and simulating the whole
process of login on Internet. Real-time display upstream and downstream bit rate and
throughput.
Connect the tester as shown in Fig 37. In this mode, the LAN interface and ADSL interface
need to be connected to the host PC and ADSL line respectively.
