Index
With index and search tools provided by Pagis Pro, you can easily
manage your scanned and electronic documents. Later, you can
search for and retrieve virtually any document, anywhere in your
file system, in a few moments.
The file management tools that Pagis Pro provides are the:

Index Manager, which enables you to create, configure,
schedule updates for, and otherwise maintain your search
indexes.
◆
Update tool, which runs the actual indexing function to create or
update an index. During indexing, Pagis Pro searches through all
supported electronic documents, and indexes the text they
contain. On scanned documents, and other supported image file
formats, Pagis Pro uses TextBridge OCR to recognize and index
the text they contain.
◆
Search Tool, which searches at your direction through the
indexes for the specified file(s).
This section describes the Pagis Index Manager and Update tools,
which let you simplify document management in your Windows
file system.
For information about the Search Tool, please refer to “Searching
for a Document” in Chapter 3, and “Search Tool” later in this
chapter.
