Battery Charging
Device
To prevent damage to a control system that uses an alternator or
battery-charging device, make sure the charging device is turned off
before disconnecting the battery from the system.
Electrostatic Discharge Awareness
Prior to making any connections to the product, personnel should ensure that
they are free of electrostatic build-up in order to protect the integrity of the
device’s circuitry. The simplest method for dissipating electrostatic build-up is to
contact an adjacent, grounded metal object before contacting the product.
The product circuit boards should only be removed or repaired by
authorized Woodward personnel. In the event this is required,
authorized personnel must follow the ESD mitigation procedures
described in Woodward manual 82715, Guide for Handling and
Protection of Electronic Controls, Printed Circuit Boards, and
Modules, to ensure circuit board integrity is maintained during repair
or replacement.
