8.1.2 Control function bypass (Fig. 11)
On the factory side, the
bypass
(item 15) is
equipped with a specified
flow restrictor
(item 18)
and tested for correct functioning.
If deposits or dirt particles cause the bypass to
close, then check this for permeability.
During the test run, water ingress should be rec-
ognisable via the
bypass
(item 15) into the
break
tank
(item 28).
CAUTION! Risk of damage!
A restricted volume flow in the bypass when
extracting a small quantity or during a test run
destroys the mechanical seal.
The size of the orifice bore is engraved on the key
surface of the flow restrictor.
The
shut-off device
(item 11) must only be closed
for inspection purposes and should be opened
when the appliance is put back into operation and
secured against unauthorised closing.
8.2 Commissioning the system
After all the preparations and checks according to
chapter 8.1 have been made, the system should
be switched on at the main switch on the control
device and the control should be set to automatic
mode. The pressure control system switches on
the pump until the consumer piping is filled with
water and the set pressure has been built up.
CAUTION! Risk of malfunction or damage!
If the system has not been flushed up to now, it
should be flushed thoroughly at the latest now.

8.3 Decommissioning the system
If the system is decommissioned for maintenance,
repair or other measures, proceed as follows:
• Switch off voltage supply and secure against
unauthorised reactivation.
• Close the shut-off devices upstream and
downstream of the system.
• Shut off the diaphragm expansion tank at the
throughflow fitting and drain it.
• Drain the system completely if necessary. This is
done by opening the drain plug on the pump sup-
port foot and by opening the drain port on the
break tank. (Please also refer to the corresponding
chapter in the enclosed installation and operating
instructions for the pump).
8.3.1 Information on the collection of used electrical
and electronic products
Proper disposal and appropriate recycling of this
product prevents damage to the environment and
dangers to your personal health.
NOTICE
Disposal in domestic waste is forbidden!
In the European Union, this symbol can appear on
the product, the packaging or the accompanying
documentation. It means that the electrical and
electronic products in question must not be dis-
posed of along with domestic waste.
To ensure proper handling, recycling and disposal
of the used products in question, please note the
following points:
• Only hand over these products at designated, cer-
tified collecting points.
• Observe the locally applicable regulations!
Please consult your local municipality, the nearest
waste disposal site, or the dealer who sold the
product to you for information on proper disposal.

9 Maintenance
To guarantee maximum operational reliability at
the lowest possible operating costs, we recom-
mend that the system is checked and maintained
regularly (DIN 14462 standard). It is advisable to
conclude a maintenance contract with a specialist
company or with our central customer service. The
following checks should be made regularly:
• Check that the fire-extinguishing system is ready
to operate.
• Check of the seat and function of the float valve
(item 30, 30-4) and of the seat of the float ball
(item 30-1) on the lever arm (item 30-2)
(Fig. 10a to 10c).
• Inspection of the mechanical seal of the pump For
lubrication, the mechanical seal requires water,
which can also escape slightly from the gasket.
The mechanical seal must be replaced if there is a
noticeable water leak (installation and operating
instructions for the pump).
• Inspection of the diaphragm expansion tank
(every 3 months is recommended) to make sure
the correct supply pressure is set (chapter 8.1
and Fig. 4b).
CAUTION! Risk of malfunction or damage!
If the supply pressure is incorrect, the function
of the diaphragm expansion tank is not guaran-
teed, which increases the diaphragm wear and
can cause system faults.
If the system is decommissioned for a long time,
as described in section 8.3, drain the system.
