6 DISPOSAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
6.1 Device disposal
The law (under Directive 2012/19/EU of the European Parliament and of the
Council of 4 July 2012 on waste electric and electronic equipment, and the re-
formed German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act of 20 October 2015)
states that as an owner of an electric or electronic device, it is not permitted to
dispose of this device or its electric/electronic accessories via unsorted domestic
waste.
• Instead, please use the free collection centres intended for this purpose.
• Contact your local council for information.
6.2 Disposing of the packaging
The packaging is an important part of our product: it protects our devices from
damage during transportation and reduces the risk of a device fault. For this
reason, we cannot avoid using packaging. If you need to return or send in your
device during the warranty period, or after, to the service or customer service
department, the original packaging is the best protection against damages in
transit.
If you nevertheless wish to dispose of the packaging, you can do this at any time
and without limitation via your local council facilities (waste paper skip, yellow
skip, recycling depot, waste paper collection etc.). To this end, Vorwerk commis-
sions legally authorised licensees. If you have any questions, please contact your
corresponding Customer Services (see chapter “8 Services” on page 99).
