6.8 ALARMS
During normal operation the process will be monitored. Alarms generated fall into two categories,
namely, fatal and warnings. If the unit is in service and a fatal alarm is generated the unit will shut
down. All fatal alarms conditions must be cleared before the unit can be put back in service.
6.8.1 Fatal
Alarm
Description
Fatal - Air Pressure Failure
The air supply has been lost
Fatal - Emergency Stop Pressed
The remote emergency stop has been pressed
Fatal - Hardness Monitor Input
Failed
The harness monitor input signal has gone low
Fatal - pH Monitor Input Failed
The ph monitor input signal has gone low
Fatal - Chlorine Monitor Input
Failed
The chlorine monitor input signal has gone low
Fatal - PT30-01 Over Pressure
High pressure seen at pressure transducer
Fatal - PT40-01 Over Pressure
High pressure seen at pressure transducer
Fatal - Feed Conductivity High
The feed conductivity is above is fatal setting
Fatal - Tank Low Level
The feed tank has gone low more times than is
allowed during a 24 hour period.
Fatal - PU30-01 Pump Not Started
The pump has been started but the digital input to
say its running has not come on.
Fatal - PU30-01 Pump Not
Stopped
The pump has been stopped but the digital input to
say its running has remained on.

– Feed/Recirc valve not at
Feed Position
The limit switch to indicate this valve is at this
position is not on.
Fatal
– Feed/Recirc valve not at
Recirculation Position
The limit switch to indicate this valve is at this
position is not on.
Fatal
– PW Tank1 valve not
Closed
The limit switch to indicate this valve is at this
position is not on.
Fatal
– PW Tank1 valve not Open
The limit switch to indicate this valve is at this
position is not on.
Fatal
– PW Tank2 valve not
Closed
The limit switch to indicate this valve is at this
position is not on.
Fatal
– PW Tank2 valve not Open
The limit switch to indicate this valve is at this
position is not on.
Fatal
– Operation attempted while
model is “not set”
The operator has attempted to start the service /
hws or cip while the model size is in the “not set”
state.
