7 PLANT OPERATION
7.1 OPERATING MODES
The plant is designed to operate either continuously or on a stop start basis and can be started and
stopped by an Operator using a green access key. Any alarms which appear should be investigated
and re-set using the instructions on the HMI screen.
7.2 STARTUP AND SHUTDOWN
The following is the routine start-up procedure once the system has been installed and
commissioned.
Switch on compressed air supply to the system and regulate to 6 bar using the regulator inside
the right hand side control cabinet.
Switch on feedwater supply to the unit. A minimum of 4 bar is required for operating the
softeners.
Ensure the manual valves fitted to the relevant options are in the OPEN position.

Ensure tank drain valve V30-02 is in the closed position.
Switch on the power to the system. The HMI screen will boot up after about 30 seconds and
