Verify the Encoder Counts Value
The 3 left-most diagnostic LEDs on the FlexJet Control PCA indicate a
count range for theta. (These LEDs can be helpful to indicate theta if the
PC board is easily visible during the setup.) Refer to the diagnostic-LED
drawing and chart in the
Assembly Drawings section of this document.
1.
Gently rotate the (theta) Timing Belt Pulley to either the left or right
extreme and hold it in position. Then select the
Read Values
button
and record the value from the
Counts
field. Refer to the following
diagram.

With the tool firmly in place, gently rotate the (theta) Timing Belt
Pulley to the other extreme and hold it in position. Then select the
Read Values
button and record the value from the
Counts
field.
3.
Add the 2 numbers (positive and negative). Example: 56 + (-34) = 22.
• If the sum is 0±30, then continue with the Final Steps section.
• If the sum is greater than 0±30, then repeat this procedure from step
1 in the Adjust the Encoder Counts Value section.
Final Steps
1.
Remove the Theta Alignment Tool.
2.
Remove all loose tools and parts from the platform machine.
3.
Install the nozzles to match the software nozzle configuration.
4.
Install the FlexJet Head Cover.
5.
Close the hinged cover and install the safety cover below the hinged
cover.
