Absolute Locations > Units > Inches
to view the spindle
depth.

Tool > All

Increment > 1.0”.

Move the spindle down 3 inches (76,2 mm) by selecting the down-
arrow button 3 times.
7.
Select
Increment > 0.1”.
8.
Move the spindle down 0.4 inches (10,16 mm) by selecting the down-
arrow button 4 times. The spindle is now at a depth of 3.4 inches
(81,36 mm) from the home position.
Check the Signal Strength
1.
If 2 or more LEDs are not illuminated for any of the spindles, that
touch-down sensor needs adjustment. For future reference, record
which of the 7 sensors are out of adjustment.
Touch-down sensor setup for a spindle is not necessary under the
following circumstances.
• If all LEDs for a spindle are illuminated
• If all but 1 of the LEDs for a spindle are illuminated.

Select
Increment > 1.0”.
3.
Move the spindle up to the home position by selecting the up-arrow
button 4 times.
It is important to use Manual Control to move the spindles up to the
home position before exiting the software window to prevent the
spindles from slapping to the home position.

Exit

5.
If one or more sensors are out of adjustment, complete the steps in the
Cleaning the Pin Mirrors section of this document. Then complete the
steps in the Setting the Touch-Down Sensors section. It is
recommended to only adjust those sensors which are out of adjustment;
therefore, it may not be necessary to adjust all 7 spindles.
6.
Record on the appropriate copied sheet from the Maintenance Log
document that this procedure was performed and include the date.
