Procedures and Adjustments
The following subsections contain the maintenance procedures that are
required for proper FlexJet Head Assembly operation.
Prepare the Machine for Maintenance
Always perform the following steps before beginning maintenance on the
head.
1.
Select
Production Control >
Manual Control
in
Universal
Platform Software
(UPS) to move the beam so that the head is
accessible for maintenance.
2.
Palm down the platform machine.
3.
Power down and Lockout/Tagout the machine.
The machine must be powered down and the site's Lockout/Tagout
procedure executed during this procedure to ensure personal safety.
4.
Open the hinged cover and lock it in the upper position.
5.
Remove the safety cover (below the hinged cover).
Use Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) precautionary measures, such as a
grounded wrist strap, when working on the platform machine and the
FlexJet Head.
6.
Remove all feeders that are obstructing the work.
7.
Remove the 3 screws and the FlexJet Head Cover. (For some
procedures this step may not be necessary).
Prepare the Machine for Production
After all maintenance is complete, perform the following steps to return the
machine to a safe state and verify that the head and machine are functioning
correctly.
1.
Install the 3 screws and the FlexJet Head Cover.
2.
Remove all loose tools and extra parts from the platform machine.
3.
Close the hinged covers and install the safety covers below the hinged
covers.
