SETUP AND ASSEMBLY
Step 13.
Check the alignment of the hopper to the
1540 EC frame. The metering gate should be level
with the surface of the conveyor belt (metering gate
does not fully close to the surface of the conveyor
belt).
● If the hopper is in alignment with the frame and the
metering gate, securely tighten all of the screws
holding the hopper to the frame.
Step 14.
After tightening the screws holding the
hopper to the frame, re–check the operation of the
metering gate.
● If the gate operates properly, tighten all of the
hardware holding the hopper panels together.
Step 15.
Check all of the lower outside corners of the
hopper assembly where it meets the frame.
● Check for a good contact and alignment of the side
hopper panels with the front and rear panels.
● If a gap is found, apply a small amount of silicon
sealer along the joint (on the inside of the hopper)
to fully seal the hopper.
METERING GATE ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION
(See Figure 5)
Step 10.
Assemble the right and left hand mounting
brackets to the metering gate. Use 3/4” x 1-1/4”
long hex head screws and nylock nuts.
● Space with plastic washers.
DO NOT TIGHTEN
SCREWS AT THIS TIME.
Step 11.
Attach the metering gate to the rear of the
hopper. Use 3/8” x 3/4” long hex head screws, lock
washers and nuts.
● Insert the screws from the inside of the hopper and
the nuts on the outside of the mounting brackets.
Tighten screws securely.
NOTE: The metering gate should not touch the rear
hopper panel when opened and closed.
Step 12.
Tighten the 3/4” nylock nuts on the metering
gate. Leave nuts loose enough to allow movement
of the gate, but tight enough to keep metering gate
in position during operation.
