Step 22.
Route the Control Box Wiring Harness along
the top of the tongue.
● Secure to the top of the tongue with two black plastic
tie wraps. Provide enough slack in the cable next
to the hitch to avoid binding or pinching the cable
during sharp turns.
● Hang the control box in the slot on the side panel (slot
located toward front corner).
● Wind up excess cable on the bracket on the front of
the machine.
Step 23.
Check for proper operation of the jack stand.
The jack stand should swivel and lock securely into
position.
INSTALLING THE OPTIONAL 5TH WHEEL HITCH
ASSEMBLY
(See Figure 9)
Step 20.
Remove and discard the rubber grommet in
the hitch assembly.
Step 21.
Insert the tongue and hitch assembly into the
front of the 1540 EC frame.
● Attach the tongue to the frame with two 1/2” x 4-1/2”
hex head screws, 1/2” lock washers and 1/2” hex
nuts. Tighten securely.
