ELECTRONIC CONTROL BOX LOCATION DURING
OPERATION
During operation, keep the control box at the
operator’s position on the tow vehicle. When not in
use, the control box hangs on the front of the frame.
Wind control box cable up on the cable hanger. DO
NOT put the box in the hopper. Severe damage to the
box, cable, conveyor belt, metering gate opening and
spinner wheels will result if the control box becomes
trapped or tangled in the metering gate and spinner
assembly. When not in use, the ignition switch and
the control box switch should ALWAYS be in the OFF
position.
ELECTRONIC CONTROL BOX DISPLAY
(See Figure 18 and Figure 19)
When the engine ignition switch is OFF, the display will
be blank. When the ignition switch is turned ON, the
display will briefly show a start-up screen “TURFCO”
and then show the current (last used) selection of
spinner and conveyor speeds.
THREE POSITION ON/OFF SWITCH
(See Figure 18 and Figure 19)
The switch controls the ON/OFF activation of the
spinners, the conveyor belt, and the engine throttle.
The positions are:
● Spinners OFF, Conveyor Belt OFF (Engine at Idle)
● Spinners ON, Conveyor Belt OFF (Engine to Full
Throttle)
● Spinners ON, Conveyor Belt ON (Engine to Full
Throttle)
When the switch is turned ON, the spinners and the
conveyor will start operation and go to the speeds
shown in the display. Different speeds can be selected
before, during or after the switch is turned ON.
The switch operates the same regardless of which
preset is chosen, or if presets are locked or unlocked.
Before starting the engine,
place the switch in the OFF
position for both the conveyor belt and the spinners.
If the switch is in any ON position, full throttle engine
speed and operation of the conveyor belt and/or the
spinners will occur as soon as the engine starts.
NOTE: Engine Must Be Warmed Up Before Automatic
Throttle Control Will Operate.
SETTING SPINNER SPEED SWITCH
(See Figure 15)
Adjust spinner speed with the switch. Press up to
increase speed or press down to decrease speed.
Changes to the spinner speed will be displayed on the
left side of the display in increments of 5%. Full range
of speeds will be from “0%” to “100%”.
Different speeds can be selected before, during and
after the ON/OFF switch is turned ON.
Spinner speed switch will not change preset speeds
if lockout “L” shows in display. Refer to the “Yellow
Lockout Button” instructions.
In the Heavyspread setting, start with a spinner speed
of 30% (factory preset “C”) and adjust as needed.
Changing the spinner speed does not affect the
operating speed of the conveyor belt.
SETTING CONVEYOR SPEED SWITCH
(See Figure 18 and Figure 19)
Adjust conveyor belt speed with the switch. Press up
to increase speed or press down to decrease speed.
Changes to the conveyor belt speed will be displayed
on the right side of the display in increments of 5%.
Full range of speeds will be from “0%” to “100%”.
Different speeds can be selected before, during and
after the ON/OFF switch is turned ON.
Conveyor speed switch will not change preset speeds
if lockout “L” shows in display.
Refer to the “Yellow
Lockout Button” instructions.
In the Heavyspread setting, start with a conveyor
speed of 80% (factory preset “C”) and adjust as
needed. Changing the conveyor speed does not affect
the operating speed of the spinners.
GREEN PRESET BUTTONS
(See Figure 18 and Figure 19)
The green buttons are preset speed combinations for
the spinners and the conveyor belt. These presets can
be changed and saved to new speed combinations.
Selecting a Preset:
Press A, B, or C for Preset Spinner
& Belt Speeds. The display will show the speeds of
