Changing the Main Hard Drive
You may want to change the main hard drive in your computer.
You may need a larger hard drive, you may want to use your hard
drive in another computer or you may want to use more than one
operating system.This section provides instructions for changing
the main hard drive.
Prepare the Computer
Before changing the main hard drive, be sure to perform a proper
Windows 95 shut down:
1 Click Start, then click Shut Down
Windows 95 displays the Shut Down Windows dialog box.
2 Click the button next to Shut down the computer?, then
click Yes.
Windows 95 closes and turns the computer’s power off.
Make sure the power is off before you swap your computer’s
main hard drive. Removing or inserting a hard drive while the
computer is on may damage the computer, the drive or both.
Remove the Main Hard Drive from the Computer
Follow these steps to remove the main hard drive from the
computer:
1 Turn the computer over and turn it so you are facing the
right side of the computer.
