Slot number
nV-Tool manages the modules mounted on BUM7B with slot numbers S0 to S11.
Accordingly, the module positions are associated with slot numbers S0 to S11 on base
unit BUM7B in the “product tree” of nV-Tool.
PUM12 manages the slot position of G2 I/O modules mounted on BUM7B with slot
numbers S1 to S10. Therefore, the slot numbers in the “system view (I/O module
status)” displayed on nV-Tool of G2 I/O, which is installed on the main base unit through
nV-Tool, and the slot numbers in the “log” are identical with slot numbers S1 to S10 on
BUM7B.
In contrast, GA922, which is the I/O node of a TC-net I/O loop remote I/O system,
manages the slot position of G2 I/O modules with the I/O module addresses with the
leftmost G2 I/O mountable slot as slot 0. Therefore, BUM7B slot numbers S1 to S11 are
converted to I/O module addresses 0 to 10 in the remote base unit.
It should be noted that the slot numbers on nV-Tool’s “system view (I/O module status)”
and the I/O slot numbers in the “log” indicate I/O module addresses 0 to 10, which are
not identical with slot numbers S1 to S11. Association between the slot numbers and I/O
module addresses is shown in the following figures.

■
Longer I/O upgrading time is required (I/O bus to TC-net I/O: Bus speed slows down)
When configuring an expansion (remote) unit
■
The cable wiring for the terminal block may be extended by some 50 mm.
When replacing with BUM7B
