6.4 Battery Replacement
Type1 light controller module PUM12 applied to the T series migration system uses battery
power (BTM12) to hold registers and calendar data which are specified with power failure
storage. The battery needs to be replaced on a regular basis.
For details of the battery, refer to:
“Unified controller nv series type1 light Controller Unit User’s Manual - Basic
Hardware -” (6F8C1497)
Do not connect in reverse, charge, disassemble,
heat, throw in the fire or short-circuit the battery.
It may cause explosion or ignition.
Replace the battery within the specified period.
Drained battery may cause the loss of data or
programs saved on the controller module, or
accident or mechanical damage due to malfunction.
Remark
• The battery can be replaced irrespective of the power supply status of the module. It
should, however, be replaced within three minutes when the module is not energized.
Leaving the module without a battery for a prolonged time may cause the loss of RAM
data.
• The battery LED (BAT) will light while the battery is removed, but this is not an error (it will
go off when voltage drop is detected correctly after the battery is mounted).
• The rated voltage differs from the manganese dry batteries and alkaline batteries. Do not
use them.
• Do not use the battery for more than three years from the date of purchase.
■
Battery disposal
Dispose the battery according to the local regulations.
It is very dangerous to disassemble or burn the battery. Dispose the battery as it is.
The lithium battery will fume or ignite if cathode and anode are shorted.
Do not break or disassemble conductors for disposal and take care of the positive and
negative electrodes not to be shorted.
