2. Double-click on the Instrument icon that represents your HPLC
instrument. An applications window will open with a default
data file displayed.
3. From the menu bar, click on Control. Then, select Instrument
Status from the drop-down menu.
4. Right-click in the UV6000 Instrument Status window to open a
shortcut menu. Select Diagnostics from the shortcut menu. The
UV6000LP Diagnostics program will open with the Lamps
page displayed (Figure 5.1).

Note that there are five diagnostic areas organized into pages with
tabs across the top for ease of selection. The pages are Lamps,
Control, Display, Error Log and Calibration.
The tabs at the top of each page can be used to quickly move from
page to page. Each time you open the diagnostics program it
automatically defaults to the Lamp page.
THE LAMPS PAGE
The Lamps page displays the status of the detector’s two lamps and
the total run time of each lamp. Buttons permit you to manually turn
either lamp on or off and to reset each lamp’s run time to zero
following lamp replacement (Figure 5.2).
