Cleaning Detector External Surfaces
The external surfaces of the detector should be kept clean and dry. To
clean the outside of the detector, wipe with a dust-free cloth or a
damp cloth (moistened with water only) to remove dirt or stains.
Flowcell
This section describes the general cleaning of your detector’s
flowcell. For other flowcell problems, such as a cracked window or
leaks that occur in locations other than at the inlet/outlet fittings,
contact your Thermo Electron representative.
NOTE: Flowcells are factory-assembled units that should not be
disassembled under any circumstance.
REMOVING THE
FLOWCELL
The flowcell must be removed to clean it. To access the flowcell, do
the following:
1.
Turn detector power off and disconnect the power cord from its
rear panel.
2.
Remove the front cover by pulling out on the bottom and
lifting up.
3.
The flowcell assembly is located behind the flowcell cover.
Remove the flowcell cover by gently pulling the snap latch to
free the cover.
