Inputs Group
The current states of the START and ZERO input signals are
displayed in this group. These signals are activated or turned on by a
contact closure between them and their COMMON terminals on the
rear panel.
You can test an input by connecting a jumper between input’s rear
panel terminal and its COMMON terminal. It should indicate
On
in
this condition.
In addition to the START, ZERO and SPARE inputs, there is also a
status item labeled WHEEL. A magnetic sensor on the standard filter
wheel senses if the filter wheel is in the open position (# 1). When the
Wheel is in position #1 the status reads
On
. If the wheel is in any
other position, the status reads
Off
and the detector status reads
Not
Ready
.
Status Buttons
Group
The buttons in the Status group control the display of information in
the Status fields at the top of the page.
The Status-On button initiates a continuous update of the status fields.
The Status-Off button stops the continuous update and freezes the
status information in the fields.
Data Buttons Group
The Data button group affects both scan and chromatogram plots.
The Data-Start button turns the data on and begins a real-time update
of the spectral scan and the chromatogram plots for the channels
selected on the Control page. The Status field should indicate
Ready
to display actual data.
The Data-Off button stops the data update and freezes the plots. You
must turn data off to download values to the detector from the
Control page.
Zero and Snapshot
Buttons
When the absorbance mode is selected and data is on, the Zero button
zeroes both spectral scan and chromatogram plots. (The Zero button
is not available when in the Intensity mode). It takes the next scan and
subtracts it from the succeeding scans. You can use this button to
bring the scan back down to the baseline. This function is automatic
at the start of data collection if the absorbance method is selected on
the Control page.
