Installation
1. Install the throttling valve using new O-ring soaked in compressor oil (same type of oil that is
used in the system). Bolt the throttling valve to the compressor.
2. Connect the suction hose from the throttling valve to the accumulator tank. Install pilot
solenoid line.
3. Replace Drier.
4. Pressurize the system and check for leaks. If no leaks are found, evacuate the system.
5. Open receiver tank outlet valve. Place the unit in operation.
6. Check refrigerant charge.
Compressors with Internal Oil Filter
In the first quarter of 2014, four cylinder compressors with an internal oil filter are being phased
into truck and trailer units that typically use compressors with external oil filters. The internal oil
filter is located in the compressor sump near the oil pickup tube (
).

e:: These units use compressors with oil filters. If the compressor does not have an external
oil filter, it has an internal oil filter.
Internal Oil Filter Replacement
The internal oil filter should be replaced in the same situations in which the external oil filter was
replaced, such as when the drier is replaced or the compressor oil is changed.
