Diesel Engine

The unit is equipped with a quiet running Thermo
King TK 486, a 4-cylinder, water cooled, direct
injection diesel engine, rated at 34 continuous
horsepower at 2200 rpm. The engine is coupled
directly to the compressor on the Model 30. A
centrifugal clutch transfers power from the engine
to the compressor on the Model 50. Belts transmit
power to the unit fans, alternator, and water pump.
