Cooling
Internal fans provide forced air cooling. Do not block openings.
Bare
Instrument
The equipment should not placed next to solid walls or other
equipment preventing airflow. To ensure adequate air outlet,
there must be a minimum of 15 mm (0.6 inches) of clearance on
both sides of the instrument. To ensure adequate air flow, make
sure there are no flat surfaces at the back of the instrument any
closer than the bends in the cables connected to the instrument.
Note:
Attaching the battery mount and battery to the back of
the MPS does not significantly obstruct the air inlet.
Rackmount
Use only the rackmount MPS-RACK accessory kit to install this
instrument in an equipment rack. To ensure proper airflow when
installing the instrument in a closed rack with solid walls, there
must be a minimum of 15 mm (0.6 inches) of clearance from at
least one side of the instrument to the rack side walls (for example,
when two MPS are installed side-by-side in a rack). The surface at
the back of the instrument must not be any closer than the bends
in the cables connected to the instrument.
