Test Results
In the SIGNAL, CODE & FAS Results category, view the
Freq
∆
ppm, Bit Slip, and Frame Slip results. These results
indicate the relative stability of the recovered clock to the
reference clock. The Freq
∆
ppm result indicates the
recovered clock frequency deviation (in parts per million)
from 2.048 Mbit/s. The Bit Slip value indicates whether
the 2M reference is above or below the recovered clock.
The Bit Slip value increments when the 2M reference is
higher than the recovered clock frequency. The Bit Slip
value decrements when the 2M reference is lower than the
recovered clock frequency.
7.9 TESTING AT A DATA INTERFACE
You can use the INTERCEPTOR 147 to test data interfaces
by replacing a DCE or a DTE such as a terminal or
multiplexer, and conducting a complete Bit Error test. For
a diagram of a typical test setup, see Figure 7-8.
