USB Flash Drive and Device Ports
Flash Drive Initial Read
Time
The oscilloscope reads the internal structure of a USB

fl
ash
drive, how the drive is formatted, and the number of
fi
les stored on the drive.
NOTE.
To signi
fi
cantly shorten the initial read time of 64 MB and larger USB
fl
ash drives, format the drive on your PC.

File Management Conventions
The oscilloscope uses the following
fi
le management conventions for data storage:
The oscilloscope checks for available space on the USB
fl
ash drive before
writing
fi
les, and displays a warning message if there is not enough memory
available.
The term “folder” refers to a directory location on the USB
fl
ash drive.
The default location for the
fi
le save or
fi
le recall functions is the current
folder.
/usb0/ is the root folder.
The oscilloscope resets the current folder to /usb0/ when you power on the
oscilloscope, or when you insert a USB
fl
ash drive after the oscilloscope is
powered on.
