Test
Follow this procedure to make the direct trigger sensitivity check:
1.
Click the
Meas
tab.
2.
Select
Meas 1
.
3.
Click the
Source1
button.
4.
Make sure the channel under test is selected in the
Source
tab
5.
Click the
Pulse
button (Signal Type area).
6.
Click
Select Meas > Pulse – Amplitude > Amplitude
.
7.
Click
Meas 2
.
8.
Click the
Source1
button.
9.
In the Source tab, make sure the channel under test is selected and click the
Pulse
Signal Type button.
10.
Click
Select Meas > Pulse – Timing > Frequency
.
11.
Adjust the synthesizer signal generator level until the amplitude measurement
readout on the instrument shows
100 mV
.
12.
Set the signal generator frequency to
100 MHz
.
13.
Adjust the Horizontal
SCALE
knob to display at least two full periods.
14.
Verify that the frequency readout value is within
10%
of the true value.
15.
Set the signal generator frequency to each of the following values, adjust the
horizontal scale to the corresponding seconds/div setting, and repeat steps 13
and 14 :
800 MHz at 500 ps/div
1 GHz at 500 ps/div
2 GHz at 200 ps/div
3 GHz at 100 ps/div
