1735 HD High Definition Waveform Monitor
5–17
m. Set the DVM range for three-place accuracy and adjust the peak-to-peak
de level for a reading as close to zero as possible. Note the
reference reading.
n. Use the leveled sine-wave generator Frequency controls to provide all
frequencies from 250 kHz to 30 MHz.
o. Check frequency response for
±
2% or 14 mV from 250 kHz to 30 MHz.
p. Repeat steps j. through o. for CH 2B, CH1B, CH 3A, CH 2A, and
CH 1A.
q. Return the 1735 HD to X1 Gain.
17. Check PIX MON OUT Frequency Response
Requirement: Frequency Response within
±
5% of 50 kHz, up to 30 MHz.
a. Connect the peak-to-peak detector head to PIX MON OUT.
b. Connect the leveled sine-wave generator to the 1735 HD CH1 A.
Terminate the loop-through in 75
W
.
c.
Select CH 1A INPUT on the 1735 HD.
d. Set the leveled sine-wave generator Frequency Range to 50 kHz and
adjust its Output Amplitude for a 700 mV display on the 1735 HD.
e.
Set the DVM range for three-place accuracy and adjust the peak-to-peak
detector level for a reading as close to zero as possible. Note the
reference reading.
f.
Use the leveled sine-wave generator Frequency controls to provide all
frequencies from 250 kHz to 30 MHz.
g. Check that display voltage on the DVM is equal to that noted at 50 kHz,
±
5% (35 mV).
h. Disconnect all inputs and 75
W
terminations from the 1735 HD.
18. Check CH 1B Subtract
Requirement: A INPUT: >30 dB (<22 mV) from 50 kHz to 15 MHz. >23 dB
(<49.5 mV) from 15 MHz to 30 MHz.
a. Connect the output cable from the leveled sine wave generator, through a
50
W
precision cable, a 50-to-75
W
minimum loss attenuator, a 75
W
in-line termination and dual-input connector, to the 1735 HD CH1A and
CH 1B INPUTs.
