10. Maintenance
Seeder maintenance
1. After finishing the job, clean the seed and fertilizer hoppers to remove all residues
and then wash it afterwards.
2. Wash the whole equipment, using only water. Give special attention to the fertilizer
threads for removing any possible adherence.
3. Remove the fertilizer hoses and wash them immediately using water and neutral soap.
4. Check the equipment parts for wear. If it is necessary, replace the worn parts and
let the equipment ready for the next sowing.
5. Repair the damaged paintwork.
6. Spray the metallic parts with preservative oil; never use burnt oil.
7. The transmission chains must be removed after finishing the job, cleaned and stored
in a recipient with oil until the next sowing.
8. Clean and lubricate all grease fittings.
9. Never verify or carry out any maintenance when the hydraulic system is pressurized
10. Periodically inspect the hydraulic system, fasten the connections that are leaking,
replace the hoses that are almost reaching its expiration date or if they show any
cut, crack or dryness.
11. If there is any problem with the hydraulic cylinder, do not carry out any maintenance
procedure or weld heating, as both of this may cause roundness on the barrel or
other problems, consequently leading to internal leakages, lack of power, gripping,
damages to the cylinder rods, etc.
12. Replace the missing or damaged safety decals. Marchesan provides these decals,
upon request and indication of the respective serial number. The operator must know
the need to keep these decals in place and in good conditions. Also, the operator
must be aware that an accident can occur if the instructions are not followed.
13. After carrying out all repairs and maintenance precautions, store the equipment in
a covered and dry place.
14. Remove the extensor, articulate the drawbar upward and lock it.
15. Keep the equipment properly supported to avoid direct contact of the discs and tires
with the soil.
- Use TATU original parts only.
