IGNITION SWITCH/STEERING LOCK
The vehicle ignition switch, 1, is located on the right side of the steering column.
The ignition switch has four (4) positions that control the vehicle power supply
to certain systems and accessories. The key is required to move the ignition
switch between each position. The following paragraphs describe the function
of each ignition switch position:
LOCK - When the ignition switch is in the “LOCK” position, a steering
lock prevents the steering wheel (and front wheels) from moving. This is
both a safety device and a theft deterrent.
OFF - When the ignition switch is in the “OFF” position, the steering
lock is released. All power to vehicle accessories, instrument cluster,
and control systems is disconnected except for power to the audio/video
system (optional equipment).
