TURBOCHARGER
The turbocharger is located on the engine exhaust manifold. Turbochargers are
generally maintenance free; however, to increase the life of the turbocharger,
follow these tips:
Do not stop the vehicle engine immediately after driving. Idle the engine
for at least thirty (30) seconds before stopping to allow the compressor
wheel in the turbocharger to slow down and oil to cool the turbocharger
bearings.
Check the oil level regularly and follow the recommended oil change
intervals as the engine oil is pertinent to turbocharger longevity.
Use the recommended oil grade and weight for driving conditions.
Intake air cleanliness is important to extending the life of the turbocharger.
Always clean/change the air filter at recommended intervals.
If suspecting a problem with the turbocharger, take the vehicle to the nearest
authorised service outlet for inspection and/or repair.
INTERCOOLER
DICOR and BS-III engines come equipped with an intercooler. The intercooler,
located on top of the engine, cools intake charge air, increasing vehicle
performance. The intercooler is generally maintenance free, however, follow
these tips for intercooler maintenance:
Check the tubing connected to the intercooler for loose connections.
Use compressed air to remove debris from the fins of the intercooler.
Follow the recommended maintenance tips for the turbocharger.
If suspecting a problem with the intercooler, take the vehicle to the nearest
authorised service outlet for inspection and/or repair.
