Boom (Five-Section Boom)
6. Test
[NOTICE]
◆ Bleed the telescoping cylinders completely and
apply grease to the boom sliding surfaces before
starting the tests.
6. 1 Operation test
Telescope the boom several times, and make sure
that the telescoping operation is in order.
6.2 Boom lateral warp test

Boom direction : Over-front, Over-rear,
Over-right, Over-left
･ Other conditions : Free from solar heat and wind
1 . The hook displacement (A in sketch) under the
above test conditions under no load must be
brought within 200mm (7.9 in) in all boom
directions by shim adjustment.
2. After shim adjustment, the hook displacement (A
in sketch) under the above test conditions under
the total rated load must be within the specified of
500mm (
1 9.7 in).
When the displacement is more than the specified
limit, readjust the shim.
6.3 Other functional test
Check all the electric and electric parts (boom
length & angle detector, etc.) that are influenced
by boom dismounting, for function and accuracy.
