10.10.2 EMM Insertion
Setup of EMM insertion is done from the
Conditional Access
menu located under the
Device
Info
tab. Setting up a connection requires that a number of parameters are specified for each
entry. Creating connections and a description of each parameter is described in
When all values have been specified and "Start" has been pressed the module starts to listen for
connections on the specified port. If the port settings are correct the EMMG will after some
time (depending on the EMMG retry time) connect to the CP525. If all settings are accepted
the connection will successfully be established. This will be reflected in the "Status" field for
the connection and its streams.
During initialization of the EMM connection the EMMG will make a request for EMM band-
width. For each EMM stream there is also a setting for bandwidth, and the CP525 will only
acknowledge bandwidths lower than or equal to the specified bandwidth. This parameter can
be changed during operation and the EMMG will try to adjust its bandwidth.
If something goes wrong during initialization of the connection, an alarm will be raised describ-
ing what went wrong. If the error is severe the MUX will reset its connection to the EMMG and
re-listen. Remember to check the alarm log, as some warnings may disappear quite rapidly.
