Configuring the Single-Port Input Module

There is one setting that must be set appropriately before the module is installed.
This controls the amplification of the input signal for use with monitor inputs. There
are two variations of this depending on the module revision level. Earlier version
modules include a daughter card installed on the module containing two
transformers and a jumper. The jumper is installed in the lower position, and the
transformers are installed in the upper position for normal input signal operation. To
use the port with monitor level (–20 dB) signals, move the jumper for that port to the
upper position, and both transformers for that port to the lower position.

For revision D and later modules, the daughter board is not present and monitor
signal operation is selected by moving the appropriate port jumper from pins 1-2 to
pins 2-3. This sets the amplifier for a gain of approximately 20 dB. If the signal is not
from a monitor port, or if it is any clock signal, then the amplification is not used. The
jumper is set to W11-port 1. Pin 1 of the jumper is the top pin of the 3-pin header
(from the component side), with the module panel at the top and the circuit board
edge connector at the bottom.
