12 Description and repair NLS

12.6.2 Replace the NLS (see the above drawing)
- Loosen the fixing screw (pos. 1)
- Loosen the fixing female screw (pos. 2)
- Remove the NLS from the cabinet
- Loosen the 4 fixing screws for the connector guards and remove them
- Remove the connectors and take away the NLS
- Install a new NLS in reverse order
12.6.3 Loading parameter
- Switch on the laser with the main switch.
- If the new NLS has never been in operation yet and no connection with the PC can be established,
then most probably the baud rate on the NLS is wrongly set. In this case, carry out the following
steps:
• Terminate PCT1 and start the Windows – terminal program (Terminal, or Hyperterminal).
• Set the transmission parameters 2400Bd, no paritiy, XON/XOFF – handshake.
• Pay attention, that the PC is connected to COM1 of the laser.
• Transmit the following message to the NLS (type in):
!AB2000000000cr
!JA0200000000cr
cr = Carriage-return – the sign is generated by pushing the ENTER – KEY.
This command sequence sets the NLS from 2400 Bd to 9600 Bd.
• Terminate the terminal program.
• Switch the laser off with the main switch and then switch it on again.
• Start PCT1 and wait until the connection with the laser has been established.
- Importing system parameters:
• Select the menu “Service – System parameters.
• Click on the menu point “File – Import”.
• Select the system parameters file and click on “OK”.
• With ESC, leave the System Parameters menu.
- Importing integrator parameters:
• Select the menu “Service – Integrator Parameters”.
• Click on the menu point “File – Import”.
• Select the integrator parameters file and click on “OK”.
• With ESC, leave the Integrator Parameters menu.
- Importing modem parameters:
• Select the menu “Service – Modem Parameters”.
• Click on the menu point “File – Import”.
• Select the modem parameters file and click on “OK”.
• With ESC, leave the Modem Parameters menu.
- Return to the NBA with ESC.
