12.5 NLS Pulse generator
Explanations
The pulse generator consists of the following components:
- Main oscillator
- TP logic (for external clock frequency)
- Splitter
- SIM/ATL changeover
- Delay
- Pulse width
- HALT logic
- Monoflop for WP
- Monoflop for E-measurement.
The
Main oscillator
oscillates with a frequency of 1 MHz. In addition, it has a second output with a fre-
quency of 125 kHz.
The 1 MHz clock frequency goes to a programmed
splitter
, which from it generates the laser pulse fre-
quency in a range of 0.1 ... 5 kHz (resolution 1 us).
With the 1 MHz clock frequency, times up to 65 ms can be generated. In order to be able to generate
times of up to 400 ms, the monoflops can also be supplied with 125 kHz. The changeover is fully automa-
tic by means of software, without the user being aware of this.
The output of the splitter triggers the delay stage and the monoflops for the energy measuring window.
The
delay stage
can generate delays in the range of 80 ... 200 ms. In order for the energy measurement
to work properly, by means of the control software a minimum delay of 100 us is ensured.
The running of the delay triggers the monoflop for the
pulse width
(8us to 200 ms).
The
HALT logic
enables the aborting and suppressing of the laser pulse by the HL signal at the USER1
interface. In order to enable the software to reliably recognize the HALT signal and to then enable once
again the synchronous starting of the laser pulses, the HL signal is temporarily stored in the D-FF (HLL).
