Service Information
BASE ANGLE SENSOR REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT - (BASE)
Tools Required:
• Stubby Phillips Screwdriver
• ESD System
Procedure:
1. Plug the bed into a wall outlet.
2. Set the brakes using one of the brake control locations or by using the manual brake pedal.
3. Raise the bed to the full up position and raise the patient right siderails (foot end and head end).
4. Remove the head end, enter, foot end, and right base cover.
5. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the two screws securing the base angle sensor to the base frame (reference
Figure above).
6. Using an ESD system, properly ground yourself.
7. Unclip the three clips holding the board cover on.
8. Unplug the cable from the board.
9. Reverse the steps to install new base angle sensor.
Note: Do not over-tighten the two screws.
10. Recalibrate the bed (refer to Bed Calibration procedures on
page 25
).
11. Test all bed functionality prior to putting the bed back into service.
