4. You will now download and build the special elastomer calibration file.
Click Add a Job button to display the file open window. Find the file:
e020_XYZ_CalBox.sml.gz for your modeler. The file is located in the
Insight installation directory. For an FDM 3000 you will find the file at:
c:\Insight\modelers\fdm3000\e020_XYZ_CalBox.sml.gz where Insight is
installed at c:\Insight.
Note: The message "SML is stripped of head values., (location of file.sml)" appears.
OK this message. The message "Stripped SML file (location of file.sml) can only
be downloaded" now appears. OK this message also.
The file is loaded, but notice that the part takes up the entire envelope. Since
the header values are missing in the file, Status cannot determine the exact XY
dimensions of the part. The part is 1" x 1" and is located at th eorigin.
5. Click the Download button to build the elastomer calibration file. The extrusion
head will build a base using support material and then build several lines of
support material on top of the base. The head will then pause and move to the
back of the build envelope.
6. Using a dark marker, color the support material lines on the base, trying not to
color the base.
7. Close the modeler door and press the Pause key on the front panel to resume
building the calibration file. The modeler will now build model material
on either side of the support material.
8. Using an eyepiece, look at the lines closely. The support material that was col-
ored with the marker should be centered between the lines of the model mate-
rial.
