7. Manually slide bearing assembly support to
opposite end of table seat section (until it reaches
physical stop) to expose remaining eight bearing
rail mounting screws (four on upper rail and four
on lower rail).
8. Upper and lower bearing rails fit tightly in
machined grooves. Carefully pull complete bearing
rail assembly off and out of grooves by pulling it
away from table.
Important:
Note the orientation of the bearing rail
assembly as it comes off the table. Two spring-loaded
plastic bosses must be oriented upward.
9. Place bearing assembly on a suitable work surface.
10. Loosen eight setscrews (two each aligning four
bearing cartridges by pressing them against
center of bearing rail support).
11. Remove sixteen screws (four each) holding the
four bearing cartridges in support and discard two
rail/cartridge bearing components.
NOTE: The bearing rails do not need to be separated
from (slid out of) the bearing cartridges as they are
replaced as a single component.
NOTE: Each bearing cartridge appears to have at
least one ball bearing missing in the track. This is
normal as the balls must be able to migrate freely
around the turns in the track.
12. Replace both rails (each with two bearing
cartridges) in bearing rail support using sixteen
screws (four in each cartridge). Do not fully
tighten screws at this time.
Important:
The bearing cartridges have a marker (slight
raised flat along the length of the steel bearing cartridge
yoke) indicating which side of the cartridge must be
oriented toward the positioning setscrews when inserted
into the bearing rail support.
13. Retighten eight (two for each of four cartridges)
setscrews.
14. Tighten sixteen (four in each of four cartridges)
mounting screws.
15. Reverse process to replace bearing rail assembly
on table.
16. Repeat process for other side of table.
NOTE: Check for free movement of the slide
potentiometer pulley by hand. If needed, carefully
bend the pulley bracket (applying pressure at the
pulley hub only) to restore its free movement.
17. Apply lubricant and replace covers.
NOTE: Seat section member cover lays behind leg
and back section side member covers.
18. Replace seat and kidney elevator tabletop section.
19. Check full tabletop slide movement.
WARNING – PERSONAL INJURY AND/
OR EQUIPMENT DAMAGE HAZARD:
Lubrication makes the bearing rail assembly
difficult to handle. Do not drop the assembly.
CAUTION – POSSIBLE EQUIPMENT
DAMAGE: When the bearing assembly is
removed from the table, the seat section side
member becomes free-floating. Be careful
not to damage the slide potentiometer pulley
that sits freely in the groove in the seat section
side member.
CAUTION – POSSIBLE EQUIPMENT
DAMAGE: Do not remove the bearing
cartridges from the bearing rail. Damage
may result to the cartridge and/or loss of the
ball bearings upon reinsertion into the
cartridges.
