7. Non-Routine Procedures for the Atlas™
Autotouch 8T/15T/25T Press
Aborting a Pressing Procedure
Should you wish to cancel or change the pressing procedure after the
start button (
11
) has been pushed, the pressing routine from the
program (
P#
) running can be aborted at any time by pushing the stop
button (
12
). One push of the stop button (
12
) halts a current program
step that is being run and the program progresses to any next segment
step detail for continuation, but two pushes of the stop button (
12
)
aborts
completely
any applied program that is running.
As a safety feature, raising the front safety guard (
5
) will also abort the
pressing cycle and program (
P#
), but this is not the recommended way
of stopping a process.
Note:
The stop button (12) should be used at all times to abort
any pressing cycle or program.
Work Becomes “Trapped” in the Pressing Area
If, following the completion of a pressing cycle or running of a program
(
P#
), the sample cannot be removed from between the piston pressing
face (
7
) and the top bolster anvil pressing face (
10
), (the work has
become trapped), try to release the force by loosening of the lead
screw (
8
), turning the handle (
9
) anti-clockwise.
If the lead screw (
8
) cannot be loosened because the force holding the
work in place is too great, it may be possible that the lower piston
pressing face (
7
) and the piston itself has not fully retracted to its
minimum start/rest position before the oil return drain valves have fully
closed; when the (
ok
) symbol changes to the (
OK
) symbol condition
status. Therefore, try re-applying a load force from a program to run
(
PZ
to
P6
- e.g. a load of circa 4 tons) to the trapped work by pressing
