To connect the computer to the Pen Tray, audio mixer, wireless
keyboard and power bar:
1. Locate the MOD6 cable #1 attached to the rear of the Pen Tray inside the cabinet on
the lower-right side (as you face the front of the cabinet). It will terminate in either a 9-
pin female serial port adaptor attached to an RJ11-6 adaptor (Windows #7).
NOTE
: A direct connection between the RJ11 6-wire connector and your Windows
computer is not possible. A female serial port adaptor is required to compensate for
the physical differences between your computer's COM port and the RJ11-6
connector.
2. Determine if a DB25 or DB9 female connection is required by counting the pins in the
vacant COM port on the rear of your computer: A DB25 COM port has 25 pins to
connect with the 25 holes on a DB25 port adaptor; a DB-9 COM port has nine pins to
connect with the nine holes on a DB9 port adaptor.
3. If your computer's COM port has 25 pins, replace the DB9 port adaptor (#7 above)
with 25-pin port adaptor (#18 in table).
4.
For a Windows computer, insert the serial port adaptor into a vacant COM port.
For a Macintosh computer, insert the barrel-shaped Mini DIN8 (#17) connector
end of the MOD6 cable into the printer or modem port.
5. Connect the 3.5mm audio cable #54 (originating at the audio mixer) to the Audio Line
Out jack on the back of the computer.
6. If you're using a wireless keyboard, connect the IR Receiver cable #6a (keyboard)
and #6b (mouse), both originating at the IR Receiver, to the computer’s keyboard and
mouse ports.
7. Connect the computer’s power cable to the power bar. (Ensure that the on/off switch
is in the “off” position before making this connection.)
NOTE
: Cabinets shipped in North America and Japan are supplied with an internal
power bar and an on/off switch that controls the power bar. Users outside North
America and Japan must supply their own power bar, which should be placed in an
easy-to-reach location.
