Configuring Quality-of-Service
Quality of Service (QoS) mechanisms enable service providers to offer different classes
of service for different types of traffic or customers. QoS mechanisms are especially
important in wireless links with adaptive capabilities, because changing link conditions
may require the system to drop some traffic according to a predetermined priority and
scheduling scheme.
EtherHaul has 8 priority queues per interface.
Queues are accessed by Strict Priority or Weighted Fair Queuing (WFQ) and Shaper
mechanisms. QoS functions:
Classifier (COS & EVC)
Metering (CIR/EIR/CBS/EBS)
Ingress QOS Marking (Green/Yellow/Red)
Scheduler (Strict Priority/WFQ/ SP+Shaper /WFQ+Shaper )
